Proposed Elementary School Boundary Changes
Madison Metropolitan School District has announced the proposed elementary school boundary changes. Our neighborhood is impacted by the changed boundaries.
The December 10, 2007 plan (plan A) splits Valley Ridge between Crestwood and Falk elementary Schools. East of High Point Road will move from Stephens to Falk. West of High Point Road will move from Stephens to Crestwood. Also Falk feeds Toki Middle School while Crestwood feeds Jefferson Middle School (as did Stephens).
Update: The Board has added Plans B, C,and D to their web site.
The Board of Education Long Range Planning Committee will be making a recomendation of the proposed changes to the full board later this spring. Currently the March 3rd Meeting is listed. The next meeting of the Long Range Planning Committee is January 28th at 6:30pm in the Doyle Building Auditorium. This is an open meeting that members of the community may attend to express their opinion. Prior to this meeting there will be a meeting of Valley Ridge Homeowners on Wednesday January 23rd at the Alicia Ashman Library (at intersection of High Point and Old Sauk Rd) at 7:00pm. To discuss the proposal prior to the Committee meeting.
